
The Micro-Certificate in Environmental Metrics for Sustainability Reporting is a flexible 15-week online professional development program designed for professionals and new graduates who want practical, applied skills in ESG, environmental measurement, data management, and strategy-driven sustainability reporting, with the ability to tailor learning through specialized sector-specific course options. This program qualifies for the StrongerBC Future Skills Grant. Note: Drop request for full micro-certificate is 7 days before start of Course 1.
Micro-Certificate Pathway
Courses 1 and 2: ESG Fundamentals (Required)

- Sustainability Reporting & ESG Fundamentals: Gain a strong foundation in ESG principles, reporting frameworks, and carbon footprint measurement (Scope 1, 2, and 3).

$2500 Full Micro-Certificate (includes all 3 required courses and 2 electives)
$900 (Individual Course). If you decide to take the courses individually, it is recommended that you take the prerequisite courses, Course 1: ESG Fundamentals and Environmental Decisions prior to Course 2, 3 and/or Course 4.
This program qualifies for the StrongerBC Future Skills Grant.

How This Program is Delivered
Format: Students wanting to complete the full micro-certificate and receive accreditation must complete the following:
- Course 1, Course 2, and Course 4 (Required) and Select two of four electives from Course 3a, Course 3b, Course 3c, Course 3d (Electives).
Each course spans three weeks and includes video lectures, case studies, software application demonstrations, Q&A discussions, assignments, activities, and live sessions with industry experts. Upon successfully completing all five courses, participants will receive a Micro-Certificate in Sustainability Reporting and Environmental Metrics.
Time commitment: Participants can work at their own pace. The total time commitment is 4 hours every week that includes 2 hours per week of viewing content and 2 hours per week of activities, assessments and practice.
