Course Description

About This Course

Learners will be introduced to tools and methods, including triple-bottom-line analysis, to build the underlying justifications for implementing circular supply chains. The intent of this course is to provide learners with advanced topics and tools for performing life cycle costing, for business applications.

Outcomes

  • Understand and apply different approaches for lifecycle assessments/lifecycle costing (LCA/LCC), designed for targeted applications
  • Understand and apply advanced topics of lifecycle analysis (LCA) and lifecycle costing (LCC) for quantifying sustainability and circularity, including sensitivity analyses for identifying key activities and stakeholders
  • Understand policy landscapes towards identifying opportunities for business growth

Technical Requirements

  • Access to a computer with a modern operating system
  • Installed browser (e.g., Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome) for accessing online resources
  • Adobe PDF viewer
  • Enough hard drive space to install Zoom
  • High-speed internet connection for:
    • Word and spreadsheet software of the learner’s choice to edit and submit assessments (e.g., Google Docs and Sheets, or Office 365)
    • Connecting to online virtual machine with OpenLCA installed
    • A Microsoft account to login to the virtual machines (users can create a new one, or use an existing personal account, or use an existing institutional account)
  • Access to an email client
  • Microphone, webcam, and headphones or speaker
